It is the stated goal of the Musuem to engage in the never ending task of trying to learn and record as much as we can about the men and women from Blanco County and the roles they played during World War 2. Many of Blanco County's veterans are no longer around to share their tales and recollections, but we hope to cllect as much as we can through service records, family recollections, and any other sources that can provide some insight into that era.
A Painting of a women soldier serving in London and dated 1945 ....what was her role there, and how was she involved in what became the largest military campaign in American history?
.
There were a a little more than 4200 people living in Blanco County in 1941 when the war beagn. Some of them would go on to play key roles in the war. Fourteen never returned. We want to honor all by trying to log in whatever information we can glean from the recollections, miliatry records or from what their friens and families can remember.
